Over 600 high school students from Nghe An province participated in the National Defense and Security Education Competition.
On the morning of March 30th, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Nghe An Provincial High School Students' National Defense and Security Education Competition, 2025.
Attending the opening ceremony were: Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Khanh Dien - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command; representatives from the Provincial Police and a number of relevant departments and agencies.

The competition took place amidst a nationwide atmosphere of intense emulation activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of Southern Vietnam and national reunification, and looking forward to the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.
The competition involved 657 students from 73 high schools across 20 districts, cities, and towns, competing in 10 events: General knowledge of national defense and security; individual drills without weapons; basic combat movement postures and actions; disassembling and assembling the AK submachine gun; throwing grenades accurately; shooting the AK submachine gun using the MBT-03 training simulator; and an 800m armed run carrying an AK submachine gun.

Nghe An is a densely populated province with a strategically important location and is a revolutionary homeland. Therefore, national defense and security education in schools is always given special attention to cultivate a generation of young people with knowledge of military and national defense, and a love for their homeland to build and protect the country.

With the above significance, the 2nd Nghe An Provincial High School National Defense and Security Education Competition in 2025 is an opportunity to assess the quality of teaching and learning of the subject of National Defense and Security Education in schools.
Therefore, the aim is to affirm the position and role of the subject of National Defense and Security Education in the current general education curriculum, linking learning with practical activities, and promoting the emulation movement in learning and training among high schools.

The competition aims to draw lessons learned to improve management, teaching, and the effective implementation of the curriculum.
At the same time, in order to identify high-achieving individuals, continue to nurture and promote exemplary individuals and groups in national defense and security education, and propose practical solutions to continue effectively carrying out the task of national defense and security education in the coming years.

Following this competition, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training also requested that the specialized departments of the Department and schools organize a review of lessons learned to guide and implement the National Defense and Security Education Program to develop qualities and competencies for students, contributing to the formation of 5 qualities and 10 competencies.General Education Program 2018.
According to the plan, the Nghe An Provincial High School Students' National Defense and Security Education Competition will take place from March 30 to April 2, 2025.
