On the morning of October 24, the Department of Education and Training held the Opening Ceremony.Excellent teacher contestHigh school level 2023.

This year's contest had the participation of 706 teachers from 79 high schools and 15 continuing education centers, continuing education - vocational education centers in the whole province.

Previously, during the organization of the contest, the Organizing Committee had balanced the proportion of no more than 10% of the staff and teachers in the whole industry. Particularly for key schools and advanced schools, the proportion was no more than 15%. However, in reality, there were up to 40 schools that registered beyond the quota, including many schools from mountainous districts and difficult areas.

The Education sector has created conditions for all qualified teachers to participate and demonstrate their abilities. Compared to the original plan, the number of candidates registered for the exam exceeded 4.24%. This demonstrates the responsibility, affection, and passion for the profession of teachers throughout the province with the spirit of educating the province, for beloved students, and meeting the requirements of the general education program, meeting the development needs in the new context.

Among the subjects, many subjects had the largest number of teachers participating ever, such as Foreign Language with 85 teachers, Literature with 113 teachers, and Mathematics with 118 teachers. These are excellent teachers, those who were honored and selected from the emulation movement for good teaching in schools and ensured the standards according to Circular No. 22/2019/Ministry of Education and Training.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Vo Van Mai said that this year's contest has many unique features. This is the first contest to be held under Circular 22 of 2019 of the Ministry of Education and Training at the high school level. Accordingly, the biggest change is the change in the content of the contest. Specifically, previously, the content of the contest for each participating teacher included 3 contents including reporting on innovative experiences or results of applied pedagogical scientific research, an assessment test on professional competence, policies and teaching practices of 2 periods (including 1 period chosen by the teacher and 1 period designated by the examiner).

However, with Circular 22, each teacher participates in 2 contents, including reporting a measure that the teacher has implemented in teaching that has a positive impact on the teaching process and 1 direct teaching period. Thereby, it shows that the contest has become a professional activity, in-depth and valuable in promoting the innovation process in teaching.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training also said that the contest took place in the context that the whole industry was implementing the 2018 Education Program, in which the high school level had been deployed up to grade 11. Therefore, this year's contest was organized in parallel with 2 programs, including the 2006 General Education Program (grade 12) andNew General Education Program(grades 10 and 11). With these unique characteristics, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training believe that teachers will have the opportunity to express themselves, be calm and confident to have many successful lessons. On the part of the organizing committee, in the process of marking the exam, it is necessary to be fair, objective, and truthful about the results of the teachers participating in the exam.

This year's contest is held with the theme of Innovation in teaching methods, applying teaching measures to develop students' qualities and abilities, and improve teaching quality in schools.

This aims to discover, recognize and honor excellent teachers, promote typical examples in student education, contribute to promoting the development of educational careers of units and the entire sector; motivate each teacher to strive, improve themselves, meet the requirements of innovation in education quality, and develop professional capacity. This is also an opportunity to encourage, motivate and create opportunities for teachers to exchange expertise, practice skills, enhance autonomy, self-study, innovation, creativity and disseminate experiences in teaching.

According to the plan, the contest will be concluded in mid-November. Teachers participating in the contest will participate at locations including Le Viet Thuat High School, Nguyen Xuan On High School and Cua Lo High School.
