Over 9,000 fifth-grade students in Vinh City take their end-of-year periodic tests.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 18th, more than 9,000 fifth-grade students in Vinh City participated in the end-of-year periodic test and the handover of quality assessment for the 2022-2023 school year.
According to Ms. Hoang Phuong Thao, Head of the Education and Training Department of Vinh City, this year the number of 5th-grade students participating in this exam has increased by more than 2,000 compared to the previous school year. It is expected that in the next school year 2023-2024, the number will increase further.students from all over the cityThe number will increase significantly, with nearly 4,000 more students at the lower secondary level alone.
The end-of-year periodic examination for 5th-grade students citywide consists of two subjects: Mathematics and Vietnamese Language. This serves as the basis for schools to assess whether students have completed the primary school program, and to plan for further tutoring and re-examination for students who have not met the standards, as well as to determine if they can complete the primary school program.

The results of the periodic tests for 5th grade in Vietnamese and Mathematics also serve as a basis for transferring quality assessments between primary and secondary schools.
To ensure the exam is conducted seriously, objectively assesses the abilities of 5th-grade students, and reflects the quality of teaching and learning in schools, the department requires schools to strictly adhere to the regulations.The regulations aim to prevent negative phenomena such as circumvention of rules, chasing after achievements to distort test results, affecting educational goals, and putting pressure on teachers and students.
During the examination process, the Department of Education and Training requested that teachers who teach grades 4 and 5, and teachers whose children or siblings are taking the test, not be assigned to supervise the exams.

The exam was held in one session (morning of May 18th) with 60 minutes allotted for Vietnamese and 40 minutes for Mathematics.
Starting from May 19th, the grading process will begin. In previous years, the results of this exam were also one of the criteria for admission to Dang Thai Mai Secondary School.
