According to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Employment and Labor of Korea (MOEL) and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam (MOLISA), the special EPS-TOPIK Korean language test for workers whose labor contracts have expired and who return to their home country on time and wish to return to Korea to work will be conducted as follows:

All workers who wish to work in Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) will have to take the EPS-TOPIK Korean language test conducted by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) under the authorization of the Ministry of Employment and Labor of Korea, and only those who pass the Korean language test will be allowed to apply to work in Korea under the EPS program.

The exam is held in 3 locations: Hanoi, Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, more than 900 workers have registered to take the exam. Those who are allowed to take the exam will be announced on November 29.

In this Korean language test, not only workers who voluntarily return home on time or before the deadline can participate, but also workers who return home after their contract expires but whose visa has not expired can participate.

Specifically, the candidates are workers who have been re-employed and voluntarily return to their home country on time or before the expiration date of their residence permit in Korea (return date: from January 1, 2010 onwards). They have a date of birth between November 22, 1972 and November 21, 1994; have no criminal record; have never been deported from Korea; and are not banned from leaving the country. The test results will be announced on December 27.

Currently, South Korea has stopped accepting new Vietnamese workers due to the high rate of illegal Vietnamese workers residing in the country. Therefore, South Korea affirms that it will only create opportunities for workers who return home on time to return to work./.
