Deadly brawl from phone call

(Baonghean.vn) -The Investigation Police Agency of Thai Hoa town, Nghe An province, temporarily detained Pham Duc Tinh (born 1993) and Nguyen Duc Hieu (born 1997) for directly causing the death of Nguyen Dinh Hung (born 1991). The incident originated from a phone call.

On the evening of September 13, Pham Duc Tinh in Lien Huong block, Nguyen Duc Hieu, Dinh Tien Dung (all in Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town) invited each other to go to Ms. Thuong's house in Nghia My commune, Thai Hoa to play. While they were chatting, Nguyen Dinh Hung (in Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town) called Ms. Thuong. Ms. Thuong did not answer Hung's call but transferred it to Pham Duc Tinh to talk. The argument over the phone between Hung and Tinh was quite tense, because both were friends and were in love with Ms. Thuong.

After ending the phone call, Nguyen Dinh Hung asked Tinh and Hieu to meet at the Thi Nghiem culvert in Quang Tien ward. An hour later, Tinh, Hieu and Dung arrived at the meeting point where Hung was waiting. Without saying why, Hung took a bamboo stick and chased Hieu, Dung jumped in to stop him. At that moment, Hieu turned around and hit Hung. Feeling hurt, Hung ran to his motorbike, opened the trunk, took out a 30cm long knife and chased Hieu.

While the two were chasing each other, Pham Duc Tinh used a bamboo stick to hit Hung on the head and hands. Hung was hit hard and fell to his knees. Seeing Hung still holding the knife, Tinh hit him again on the hand but Hung still did not drop the knife. Seeing Hung did not fight back anymore, all three people (Tinh, Hieu, Dung) left. Hung was then helped home by a local resident. On the morning of September 14, Hung was taken to the hospital by his family for emergency treatment, but the victim died at 8:00 p.m. on September 15.

The head of the Criminal Investigation Team, Le Dinh Ha, and the investigating officer, Vuong Tuan Dung, Thai Hoa Town Police, said: "In this murder case, the subjects were very young, friends of each other, and all lived in Quang Tien Ward. The jealousy over a phone call led to one person's death, and the other two (Hieu and Tinh) will certainly be severely punished according to the law. This is also a lesson for young men and women in their growing years."
