This figure far exceeds the previous record of 3,000 vehicles of the CR-V model launched on the market last year.
In a recent statement, Honda Malaysia said that despite strong demand exceeding expectations, it will still be able to complete deliveries of all 10,000 units by the end of June.
Honda Malaysia said the new second production line operating at its Pegoh plant in Malacca state, with doubled capacity, has started flexible production planning and can help speed up production and shorten waiting times.
The fourth generation City has received positive feedback from Malaysians who love its advanced features and superior cabin as well as its spacious boot. In addition, it is also equipped with top-notch safety features.
Honda Malaysia said its vehicle sales in the first quarter of 2014 increased 30% compared to the same period last year, thanks to strong sales of other models including the Accord and CR-V.
The company hopes that with the All-New City model, the first new model of 2014, it will achieve its sales target of 76,000 vehicles in 2014.
The price of the All-New City starts from 75,800 Malaysian ringgit (equivalent to 23,200 USD), including taxes./.
