September 1, 2014 14:33

The small SUV model developed on the Fit chassis, the Honda XR-V, has just officially launched at the Chengdu Auto Show, China with a starting price equivalent to only 16,000 USD.

In fact, the Honda XR-V is the Chinese version of the small SUV called the Honda Vezel in Japan or the Honda HR-V in North America. The car is manufactured by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture. However, the Honda Vezel is also manufactured in China, by another Honda joint venture here - the Guangzhou-Honda joint venture. That means that in China there will be one car with two different names, manufactured by two different companies.

The Honda XR-V has an angular design, a thin grille that is consistent with the long rear headlights. Meanwhile, the large front bumper enhances the SUV character of the car. The overall dimensions of the car are 4,295 x 1,770 x 1,605 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm.

In China, the Honda XR-V uses two types of gasoline engines, including a 1.5-liter 131-horsepower engine and a 1.8-liter 165-horsepower engine, both with a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT transmission.

The selling price of Honda XR-V in China ranges from 100,000 - 140,000 yuan, equivalent to 16,200 - 22,700 USD
