Meeting to discuss the content of the first Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Congress.
(Baonghean) -This afternoon, September 12, the People's Committee of Nghe An province had a working session with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on the content related to the first Congress of Nghe An province Buddhism, term 2011-2016.
Comrade Thai Van Hang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference. Also attending were representatives of relevant departments and branches. On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, there was Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Executive Council, and abbots of pagodas located in the province.
The first Congress of Nghe An Buddhism aims to announce documents and decisions related to the establishment of Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Association, as a basis for perfecting the organization and personnel, implementing Buddhist activities according to the regulations of the Church Charter, State Law and local regulations. The Congress will report briefly on the historical process of formation and development of Buddhism in Nghe An province as well as the process of preparing to perfect the organization to establish Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Association. Through that, build a Buddhist action program for the first term (2011-2016).
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha agreed on a number of contents of the congress program in accordance with the provisions of the Law and the Charter of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The congress is scheduled to take place over two days, September 22-23, at the Nghe An Labor Culture House, with about 300 delegates and guests.
