Press conference to announce the content and agenda of the 2nd session of the 16th Nghe An Provincial People's Council

(Baonghean) - SThis morning, July 22, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial People's Council held a press conference to announce the content and agenda of the 2nd session of the 16th Provincial People's Council, term 2011 - 2016, scheduled to be held on July 28 and 29, 2011.

Attending the press conference were leaders of the Department of Information and Communications; leaders and reporters of central and local press agencies. Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the meeting.

At the press conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh announced the expected program and content of the 2nd session of the 16th Provincial People's Council. She hoped that press agencies and journalists would quickly inform all classes of people in the province about the program, content and results of the 2nd session of the Provincial People's Council.

Leaders and reporters suggested that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council should bring to the meeting urgent issues in social life for discussion, questioning and resolution. Especially the issue of mineral exploitation related to the environment, ensuring safety for workers; more appropriate policies for poor households, avoiding current distortions; paying attention to building programs and policies to promote economic development of the sea, mountainous areas, and ethnic minorities. It is necessary to strengthen supervision of activities, social management areas, issues related to political and social life, promptly provide information, create conditions for press agencies to operate, promote their responsibilities, and effectively participate in social criticism.
