Press conference on the 15th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 8, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a press conference to inform about the program and content of the 15th session of the Provincial People's Council, term XVI, 2011 - 2016.

Comrade Tran Van Mao - Standing Member of the Provincial People's Council chaired the meeting. Attending were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of leaders and reporters of the provincial press units and central press agencies stationed in Nghe An.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council announced the expected program and contents to be focused on at the 15th session of the Provincial People's Council, term XVI, 2011 - 2016. Accordingly, this is the year-end session and the last session of the 2011 - 2016 term, there will be many important contents under the authority of the Provincial People's Council to be considered and decided. Specifically, the Provincial People's Council will consider 19 reports and 17 submissions, draft resolutions; conduct personnel work under the authority of the Provincial People's Council and emulation and reward work.

Deputy Chief of Office of the National Assembly Delegation and Provincial People's Council, Ngo Thi Thanh Minh, approved the program and content of the meeting.

At this session, the question and answer session is expected to have 4 main contents, including food safety and hygiene; environmental pollution; surplus teachers; inadequacies in implementing the project of relocating people from landslide and flash flood areas. The 15th session of the Provincial People's Council, term XVI, 2011 - 2016 is expected to take place in 3 days, from December 18 to 20, 2015.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, Ho Thi Ngan, suggested that it is necessary to pay attention to clarifying the responsibilities of businesses causing environmental pollution and functional agencies in the work of inspection, control, and management of this field.

At the meeting, leaders and reporters of press agencies highly appreciated the careful preparation of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee for the session. In addition, leaders and reporters of some press agencies were concerned about the question and answer session this time with many contents, so it is necessary to increase the time and duration of the question and answer session to ensure that the issues raised are resolved promptly, meeting the expectations of voters.

Some press agencies also proposed to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council that the content of the questioning should be selected and considered in some other contents such as the issue of linking "4 houses" to improve production efficiency for the people; clarifying the situation of deforestation in the recent past; the issue of allocating production land to mountainous and ethnic people; solving problems in hydropower resettlement areas....

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Comrade Tran Van Mao - Standing Member of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged all comments and contributions from the press agencies, and at the same time explained and clarified a number of issues of interest to the press.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Hoa - Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department requested press agencies to increase propaganda, contributing to the success of the Provincial People's Council meeting.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council also informed about some innovations in the question and answer session at this meeting, from choosing the content of the questions to closely follow the urgent, practical issues that are of interest to the majority of voters; innovating the way and form of questions. In addition to questioning the key contents raised by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Council delegates can question the issues that have been questioned at previous meetings but have not been well resolved by the sectors and localities.
