Press conference to promote the 17th Congress of Nghe An Trade Union
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, February 26, the Provincial Labor Federation held a press conference to promote the 17th Congress of Nghe An Trade Union.
Attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of Information and Communications, press agencies inside and outside the province. Comrade Pham Anh Tuan - Provincial Party Committee member, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation chaired the meeting.
The 17th Nghe An Trade Union Congress will be held for 2 days, starting from March 12 to 14, 2013. In preparation for the 17th Nghe An Trade Union Congress, 2,938/2,945 grassroots trade unions have organized congresses and conferences; 29/29 grassroots trade unions have organized congresses. Attending the 17th Nghe An Trade Union Congress, there will be 346 officially summoned delegates.

At the press conference, the representative of the Provincial Federation of Labor outlined the results of 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the Nghe An Trade Union; the goals and directions of the Nghe An Trade Union in the 2013 - 2018 term; announced some new points on personnel work compared to previous Trade Union congresses... At the same time, it was announced that the number of Executive Committee members will be 45 people (an increase of 4 people compared to the 2008 - 2013 term), the number of Standing Committee members will be 15 people (an increase of 2 people compared to the 2008 - 2013 term), of which female Executive Committee members account for about 20 - 27%.
Speaking at the press conference, representatives of a number of press and radio agencies mentioned a number of issues that Nghe An Trade Union needs to pay attention to regarding labor - trade union issues (on labor relations in non-state enterprises; housing issues, vocational training for workers; quality of grassroots trade unions in enterprises; law with enterprises; grassroots cultural life...).
Taking note of the opinions of press and radio agencies, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Pham Anh Tuan requested that provincial and central press agencies located in the area increase their focus on promoting the activities of Nghe An Trade Union before, during and after the congress.
