Press conference to celebrate the 140th anniversary of Nguyen Truong To's death and Hoang Muoi Temple Festival
(Baonghean) -On October 5, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district held a meeting and discussed with the press (central and local) in the province about the plan to organize the 140th anniversary of the death of patriotic reformer Nguyen Truong To (November 22, 1871 - 2011) and the Hoang Muoi Temple Festival (from November 4 - 5, 2011).
Patriotic reformer Nguyen Truong To (born in Bui Chu village, now Hung Trung commune, in a Catholic family). Organizing the 140th anniversary of his death is to continue to honor his achievements and career, especially the reform values of Nguyen Truong To to apply in the renovation period; protect and promote the heritage he left; arouse pride and patriotic traditions among the people, contributing to the development of Hung Nguyen homeland. At the same time, building relics related to Nguyen Truong To to become attractive tourist attractions of Hung Nguyen and the province.
Organizing the Hoang Muoi Temple Festival (in Hung Thinh commune) - a district-level festival, aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation, commemorate the merits of the gods worshiped here; educate the love of homeland and country, the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source for all classes of people; meet the needs of spiritual and cultural activities and create conditions for cultural exchange between local people and people in the region, and tourists from all directions.
Representatives of central and local press agencies in the province contributed many ideas to help Hung Nguyen district leaders develop a propaganda plan to contribute to the success of these two cultural events.
