Press conference to celebrate the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27)

(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, April 10, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An held a press conference to celebrate the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).Representatives of central press agencies based in the province and local newspapers attended.

The report on the implementation of policies for people with revolutionary contributions and the "Repaying gratitude" movement of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs stated: In the past, the implementation of policies in the province has achieved many good results such as timely payment of benefits in accordance with State regulations; the confirmation and recognition of new beneficiaries of revolutionary contributions has been carried out in accordance with strict procedures, regulations and public democracy. The gratitude movements have been effectively led and directed by Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels, demonstrated in 5 programs to care for and help families with revolutionary contributions: From 1995 to present, the whole province has built and repaired 11,000 gratitude houses with a total amount of over 65 billion VND; donated over 30,000 savings books with a total amount of 8 billion VND...

At the press conference, the plan to implement the propaganda task was disseminated by Nghe An Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; aiming to propagate the viewpoints, policies and orientations of the Party, the State's legal policies towards people with revolutionary contributions; traditions and typical advanced examples in the work of war invalids and martyrs and the "Repaying gratitude" movement to expand the movement.

Also at the press conference, Plan No. 109 of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of Directive No. 06-CT/TU dated March 12, 2012 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on leadership and direction of the work of war invalids, martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution and the "Repaying gratitude" movement towards the 65th anniversary of war invalids and martyrs' day was also deployed. Accordingly, many "Repaying gratitude" activities of the province will take place such as: Organizing a delegation of outstanding people with meritorious services of the province to meet with Party and State leaders, visit historical and cultural relics, typical socio-economic works of the country in mid-April 2012; Organizing a delegation of provincial delegates to offer incense and flowers at Con Dao Cemetery in May; The Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations organize a summary of the "Repaying gratitude" movements in June; Organizing delegations to offer incense and flowers at the Vietnam - Laos, Road 9, and Truong Son cemeteries in July; Organizing a rally to honor typical and advanced individuals in early July; Organizing the "Drinking water, remember its source" festival from July 25 to 27 at the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Cemetery...
