Press conference on Nghe An Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival 2012
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, June 8, the Organizing Committee of the Nghe An Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival 2012 held a press conference to announce the propaganda content of the Festival. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival chaired the meeting; Attending were representatives of leaders and reporters from central and local press agencies.
At the meeting, the Organizing Committee reported on the situation and progress of the implementation of the plan to organize the Nghe An Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival 2012; the program and contents of the Festival. Accordingly, the Nghe An Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival 2012 will be held from June 23 to 25, 2012.
The opening ceremony took place on the evening of June 23 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television; The provincial festival was held on June 24 and 25 at the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House with the participation of over 20 clubs (4 clubs from schools, 12 clubs selected from the Nghe An provincial cluster festival, 5 clubs selected from the Ha Tinh provincial festival); in addition, 4 folk song exchange points were organized to serve the public at Binh Minh Square - Cua Lo Town, Kim Lien Commune Stadium - Nam Dan District, Ho Chi Minh Square - Vinh City and in Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh Province.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong chaired the meeting.
Speaking at the press conference, on behalf of the Festival Organizing Committee, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong requested press agencies to focus on promoting related contents such as introducing and honoring the inherent values and typical values of Nghe An folk songs, activities to preserve and promote intangible cultural values of Nghe An folk songs, performance spaces, honoring artisans and Nghe An folk song clubs, building the grassroots Vi and Giam folk song movement such as developing folk song clubs, bringing folk songs into schools, etc. The efforts and active participation of press agencies are important conditions for Vi and Giam folk songs to recover, promote their inherent values and develop more and more deeply./.
