The 13th National Party Congress took place from January 25 to February 2, 2021 in Hanoi. The Nghe An Provincial Party Delegation to the Congress was elected by the 19th Provincial Party Congress, comprising 29 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates. The Politburo assigned 4 Central Party Committee members to participate in the Delegation.
According to Notice No. 238-TB/TW dated December 23, 2020 of the Politburo, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee was appointed as Head of the Provincial Party Delegation. The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee unanimously assigned Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee as Deputy Head of the Delegation.

At the meeting, delegates heard announcements on a number of contents of the work of organizing the delegation to attend the 13th National Congress of the Party; at the same time, they also highly agreed with the draft Working Regulations of the Congress, Election Regulations at the Congress, Congress Program, and documents submitted to the Congress.
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Delegation to the 13th National Congress of the Party requested each delegate to have a high sense of self-awareness, strictly and absolutely comply with the regulations, rules and regulations set forth by the Congress; including answering press interviews as well as ensuring the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic at the Congress.
