The intelligent and dynamic girl Le Minh Anh (born in 2000) - Academic Ambassador of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has just received acceptance letters with scholarships from 4 American universities. Of which, the highest scholarship is worth 5 billion VND and she is still waiting for results from other schools to which she has applied.

Le Minh Anh - Academic Ambassador of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School.

Leader of many clubs and charity organizations

Minh Anh (12th grade Literature student, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) has just been accepted by 4 American universities: Fairfield University, Loyola University Chicago, Hope College and Augustana College.

The female ambassador of Ams school has a series of impressive academic achievements and is the deputy class monitor. Being good at Literature, Minh Anh won the UPU National Letter Writing Award twice. She won Third Prize in Literature and Civic Education at the district level, Third Prize in "I Love History" at the city level, Second Prize in Literature Olympiad and Third Prize in English Olympiad at the school level.

However, for Minh Anh, perhaps extracurricular activities are what she is most proud of in her application to American universities, not her achievements. And perhaps, that is also a plus point for the Vietnamese girl in the competitive application screening rounds.

She won the "Ams School Academic Ambassador" contest in 2017. And Minh Anh shined in school competitions because of her intelligence, talent and beauty.

Minh Anh is the president of the Wide Web Club - in charge of the website of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, founder and president of Dong Da Global Connection, member of the content committee of Hanoi Food Rescue, member of the PR committee of the fashion show "Goi - The Art of Seduction"... The charming girl also participates in many artistic and talent activities of the school's specialized block.

In particular, with the desire to bring knowledge to disadvantaged children, Minh Anh is a "teacher" of Literature in the Advisor program, volunteers to teach English in the summer at Phu Xuyen town school and Nguyen Dinh Chieu school for visually impaired students, and is an English teaching assistant at a summer camp at an international school.

Minh Anh teaches charity to children in special circumstances.

Minh Anh said that the two activities she enjoys most are writing articles for the school website and teaching English to blind children at Nguyen Dinh Chieu School.

I have the opportunity to practice my writing and communication skills and learn from many talented Amsers through working as a "reporter" for the school website.

Teaching English to blind students was also a memorable activity. Minh Anh had to learn Braille to grade papers, prepare lesson plans for them, and become more patient and thoughtful. Blind students have given the 10X girl positivity and motivation to try to help more people.

"I have been fortunate to participate in and hold leadership positions in many different clubs and organizations, ranging from social, volunteer to artistic. I believe that admissions officers see my enthusiasm and passion for contributing to the community through these activities.

Besides, applying for a scholarship in general and applying for a scholarship in particular requires many different factors, not just extracurricular activities. I think my activity profile is a "plus point" but not everything," Minh Anh shared.

Minh Anh (far right) is a personality-filled, active girl who actively participates in many extracurricular activities in and out of school.

Starting to be interested in studying abroad in the US since the beginning of 6th grade, Minh Anh was really determined and set a goal from 9th grade. By 10th grade, she officially started to gradually prepare her application. She registered to practice for certificates, focused on maintaining a good GPA, and participated in extracurricular activities.

In grade 11, Minh Anh began to highlight her profile and look for suitable schools. In the summer of grade 12, she started writing her main and secondary essays, preparing financial records, and other documents...

Starting out as a Literature major, English is not Minh Anh's advantage compared to other students. Therefore, she used "hard work to make up for lack of intelligence" to get used to the type of questions.

Essay on "books" and school violence

Teachers and friends often comment that Minh Anh is a girl with a strong personality, energetic and active. Personally, I think I am quite straightforward, optimistic, kind, the minus point is that sometimes I am a bit lazy.

Expressing her personality in the essay, Minh Anh talks about sharing in life through her experience at Human Library Vietnam.

"In the summer of 2016, I participated as a listener and heard "books" about their own stories, from transgender, straight to psychological trauma... and felt empathy.

In the summer of 2017, I continued to participate but as a book to directly share a story, a hidden corner of myself about school violence. At that time, I felt listened to, sympathized with, and shared.

Beautiful girl, must know how to listen, share and help people in life.

Then I realized that each person is like a page of a book, needing to be written and needed to be heard and understood. I want to continue writing pages of the book for those who are not as fortunate as me.

That's why I created the Student Connection Organization at the secondary school to bring people closer together, understand each other better, and eliminate the problem of school violence. Sharing has taught me how to listen, how to spread, and most importantly, how to help people."

Minh Anh has received scholarships from 4 American universities, but is still waiting for results from the remaining 10 universities before making a final decision.

She plans to choose Media because she majored in Literature and has previous experience in media, and she realizes that she has a talent for writing and speaking. In addition, the Vietnamese female student will choose Cinema as a minor because she is very passionate about art in general and movies in particular.

To those who are dreaming of studying abroad in the US, Minh Anh wishes you "Always think positively to constantly strive to pursue your dreams. Keep nurturing and nurturing your dreams, the day of harvest will come!".
