Advanced training in search and rescue

(Baonghean.vn) - At the 414th Engineering Brigade, the General Staff of Military Region 4 has just organized an advanced training course on driving high-speed boats to serve the tasks of flood and storm prevention and search and rescue in 2014.

60 part-time boat drivers of the Military Commands of 6 provinces (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue), Division 324, Division 968 and Transport Regiment 654 (Logistics Department) participating in the training course were introduced to the features, structure, and operating principles of aluminum-hulled boats and rubber boats; methods of using life-saving equipment; and rules for inland waterways. The training course spent a lot of time for students to practice at the wharf the following contents: Practicing launching and winching ST 750 and ST 660 boats; connecting and attaching thrusters to boats and practicing controlling VS 1500 boats and rubber boats to overcome obstacles; drowning rescue swimming techniques; techniques for controlling ST 660 boats to rescue people and floating objects; methods of preserving and repairing some common failures of boat hulls, thrusters, and general practice.

Due to the good preparation of the training ground, training dock, lesson plans, equipment, and weapons, and at the same time, strictly maintaining the rules and regulations during the learning process, 100% of the trainees participating in the training successfully completed the test content. The test results showed that 100% met the requirements, with over 80% achieving good or excellent results.
