Coach Park Hang-seo: Vietnam team will play an open game with Thailand
(Baonghean.vn) - In the press conference before the second leg of the AFF Cup final, coach Park Hang-seo announced that the Vietnamese team will play an open game with Thailand, if the Thai coach keeps his promise to play offensively.
"Before the second leg, some people were a bit worried, saying that the Vietnamese team was at a disadvantage due to the 2-2 draw in the first leg of the AFF Cup 2022 final. But I think the Vietnamese team came here to win and will try to do that," coach Park Hang-seo said at a press conference before the match.
Before the second leg of the final, Mr. Park made statements to warm up the match, especially "challenging" Thailand to play offensively: "Vietnam Teamhave met Thailand many times. We even won on Thailand's field in 2019. We are determined to repeat the victory against Thailand. I think Mr. Polking and the Thai team will not want to win the championship just because of the advantage of 2 away goals. I also don't understand why Thailand put out a very strange formation in the first leg, playing 3 central defenders, while they have always played 4 defenders. Maybe it was because of the pressure of playing away from home that they did that. But this time it's Thailand's home field, they play offensively, so we will play offensively," coach Park Hang-seo sent a message to his colleague Polking.
"I have said many times, whether it is the first match or the last match, I always prepare the same, always have the same mindset," coach Park said about the preparation of the Vietnamese team.
Regarding the plan to block Theerathon - the best player on the Thai side, Mr. Park emphasized: "Many dangerous situations of Thailand all came from this player. He is clearly the pillar of Thailand.
