| As of March 11, nearly 1,000 hectares of rice in Hung Nguyen district were infected with rice blast disease. |

| The disease occurs and damages early spring and main spring rice crops, mainly concentrated on varieties NX30, Xi23, IR1820, AC5, GS33, and glutinous rice. |

| Disease rate is 3-5%, locally from 7-10%, in some cases up to 25-30% of leaves are infected, some areas start to burn. |

| Faced with that situation, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district directed the agricultural sector, plant protection, agricultural extension stations, authorities and farmers in the whole district to urgently deploy measures to prevent rice blast, not allowing it to spread into an epidemic, affecting agricultural production. |
