Hung Nguyen: Meeting with the press on the occasion of the Year of the Dragon 2012
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, January 9, Hung Nguyen district organized a meeting with central and local press agencies on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2012.
Attending the event were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and representatives of central and local press agencies in the province.
At the meeting, the leaders of Hung Nguyen district briefly reported on the implementation of the 2011 plan and the tasks and plans for socio-economic development of the district in 2012. 2011 is the first year of implementing the 5-year plan. Despite many difficulties, especially due to the impact of inflation, rising prices of essential goods, natural disasters and epidemics, under the direction of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels, the district has promptly implemented solutions to direct and manage socio-economic development, thanks to which, the socio-economy continues to grow well.
Total food output reached over 60,500 tons. Total budget revenue in the area reached nearly 72 billion VND. The number of newly employed workers was 2,870 people. National defense and security continued to be consolidated, social order and safety were maintained, people's lives were stable and developed. Cultural and social fields changed positively, festivals and celebrations were organized successfully and practically.
At the meeting, delegates frankly discussed with district leaders issues of interest to the press such as the merger of Thi Tran and Hung Dao Secondary Schools, site clearance for roads under construction, environmental pollution, etc.
On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of the district, the leaders of Hung Nguyen district hope that the press agencies will continue to accompany and contribute to the overall development of the locality.
