Hung Nguyen: The 3rd "healthy and beautiful" Sind crossbred cow contest

(Baonghean) - On the morning of October 21, at Hung Nguyen Town Stadium (Nghe An), the 3rd "healthy and beautiful" Sind crossbred cow competition took place.

This year's healthy and beautiful cow contest has 52 cows carefully selected from 6 clusters out of a total of 18,000 Sind crossbred cows from the first breeding (29-33 months old) to the fourth breeding (3-6 years old) and Sind crossbred cows from 20 months old to the first breeding that are pregnant.

The contest consists of two parts: a competition on healthy and beautiful cows and a test on the owners' farming techniques. Participating in the contest, the "contestants" must walk around the competition area for the judges to score and the audience to admire. And the most "award-winning" part is the balance of shape, age and "bust" of the "ladies" cows...

This is a competition held every two years, to help people have the opportunity to exchange and share experiences in livestock farming as well as disease prevention; creating conditions for the development of commercial Sind crossbred cattle in the district in the following years.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 first prizes to 2 cows of Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao in Hamlet 12, Hung Long Commune; in addition, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 40 consolation prizes were awarded to households with participating cows.

The judges also had a hard time finding the best "contestant".

First prize went to two cows, 4 years old and 2.5 years old, owned by Ms. Hoang Thi Binh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao in Hamlet 12 (Hung Long - Hung Nguyen).
