(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 24, at Hung Nguyen Town Stadium, Hung Nguyen District People's Committee held the 4th "Healthy and Beautiful" Sind Crossbred Cow Final Contest.

Currently, Hung Nguyen has a total herd of over 16,320 cows, of which 58.9% are Sind crossbred cows raised in 23 communes and towns. After many years of implementation and expansion of the breeding area, Sind crossbred cows have been bringing in a good income for many households.

The purpose of the Sind Crossbred Cow Competition is to raise awareness and promote the livestock movement, helping people strive to build more farms as well as increase investment in technology to rapidly increase the number of buffaloes and cows, and gradually turn livestock farming into a major industry.

The competition for healthy and beautiful Sind (zebu) crossbred cows is held every three years. This year, 97 cows participated in the preliminary round out of nearly 11,000 Sind crossbred cows in 23 communes and towns and won prizes in the cluster round to enter the final. The subjects participating in the competition are Sind crossbred cows from 20 months old to first-time breeding pregnant and Sind crossbred cows from their first to fourth births. The content of the competition consists of two parts: a competition for healthy and beautiful cows and a multiple-choice test on livestock raising techniques; the knowledge test for livestock owners has a maximum score of 10, with the coefficient doubled; The maximum score for cow appearance is 80. Participating in the contest, the "contestants" must walk around the competition area for the judges to score and the audience to admire. And the most "award-winning" part is the balance of shape, age and "bust" of the "ladies" cows... But to win this contest, in addition to introducing to the judges a cow with good appearance and physique, the breeder must also complete the livestock knowledge test excellently.

Multiple choice test on livestock farming techniques for household owners.

Through the contest, the aim is to improve the knowledge of livestock breeding techniques for household owners; to select “healthy, beautiful” Sind crossbred cows, with vitality, disease resistance and good reproduction, bringing economic benefits to each household. The contest is also an opportunity to commend and reward good livestock breeders; at the same time, it helps people have the opportunity to exchange and share experiences in getting rich from raising Sind crossbred cows...

First prize went to two cows owned by Chau Thi Yen (Hamlet 4, Hung Thong Commune) and Cao Xuan Hai (Hamlet 19, Hung Thang Commune), Hung Nguyen District.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 first prizes to 2 beautiful cows of Ms. Chau Thi Yen's household in Hamlet 4 - Hung Thong Commune, and Mr. Cao Xuan Hai's household in Hamlet 19 - Hung Thang Commune; each prize was 2,000,000 VND. In addition, there were 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 85 consolation prizes awarded to households with participating cows. The total prize was 33,000,000 VND.
