Hung Nguyen celebrates 50 years of Vietnam Population Day
(Baonghean) -This morning, December 23, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district organized the 50th Anniversary of Vietnam Population Day (December 26, 1961 - December 26, 2011) and summarized 5 years of implementing Decision 105 of the Provincial People's Committee.
Along with the Nghe An Population Department, in recent years, population and family planning work in Hung Nguyen has achieved remarkable achievements, contributing significantly to the local socio-economic development.

In particular, after 5 years of implementing Decision 105 of the Provincial People's Committee, the birth rate and population growth rate have decreased sharply, the average number of children of a woman of childbearing age has decreased from 6.3 children in 1960 to 2.3 children in 2000, reaching and maintaining the replacement fertility rate of 2.1 children from 2006 to present. For many consecutive years, Hung Nguyen has been ranked as excellent and is the only district in the province.
On this occasion, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Nguyen district also presented the District Population Center with a banner bearing the inscription "50 years of the district's Population/Family Planning sector striving for the goal of "stability, quality and sustainable development"; 2 individuals were honored to receive the Commemorative Medal for the Population Cause from the Ministry of Health; Hung Tan Commune People's Committee and Ms. Ho Thi Hue - the specialized population officer of Hung Tan commune were commended by the Provincial People's Committee.
