(Baognhean) -With programs and projects that are close to reality and local advantages, mobilizing people's strength, creating consensus, in the past half term, the Party Committee of Hung Tan commune (Hung Nguyen) basically exceeded the goals and resolutions set out by the 28th Party Congress of the commune, term 2010-2015...
Taking us on a tour of the hamlet, introducing models of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and good economic performance, Mr. Phan Dang Vy - Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet 2 (Hung Tan) said: The resolution of the Party Cell on converting the structure of crops and livestock to expand multi-industry to promote economic development has come into life.
From a purely agricultural hamlet, people have developed additional occupations such as milling, carpentry, masonry, trading, welding and aquaculture. The whole hamlet currently has 6 hectares of aquaculture, 6 mixed livestock farms, many families in the hamlet, including party member families, are typical examples of good economic performance. Visiting the mixed farm model of raising fish, pigs, and chickens, about 4 sao wide, earning more than 50 million VND a month of Mr. Ho Xuan Vinh, he happily said: "Before, we only monocultured rice, so we were still poor. Since receiving bad fields with poor production, we renovated and dug ponds to raise fish and raise livestock and poultry, and our family has food and savings." The people we met in hamlet 2 all expressed: The policies of the Party cell and hamlet executive committee are all "for the benefit of the people", so they created a high consensus. The whole hamlet currently has 35/112 rich households, only 4 poor households, average income is 23 million VND/person/year.
Youth volunteers help Hung Tan farmers harvest rice.
Discussing the story in hamlet 2 with the Party Secretary of Hoang Danh Lai commune, he affirmed: "The resolution is linked to reality, exemplary cadres and party members go first, and the "village" will follow in unison. For example, in the economic field, previously the fields were fragmented, there was no initiative in varieties, production was ineffective, on the basis of the goals and targets set by the congress, and the potential and advantages available in the locality in terms of land, labor, water resources, the Party Committee has built and issued resolutions on key tasks and highly feasible thematic resolutions on restructuring crops and livestock, developing seed production areas, building high-income fields... On that basis, government leaders carry out socio-economic development tasks according to policies and resolutions, creating an environment for economic organizations and household organizations to develop production in the right direction.
The Party Committee's resolution was concretized by the government by building specific economic models such as raising Sind crossbred cattle; converting mixed gardens into economic gardens, focusing on growing safe vegetables, fruit trees and combining free-range chicken farming; developing fish farming combined with pigs and ducks; growing safe squash. Or typically, from the formation of a purebred rice seed production area, Hung Tan can proactively self-supply rice seeds, not only avoiding losses due to buying poor quality seeds but also selling them to the market.
Thanks to that, the local economic structure has been shifting towards commodity production, increasing income per unit area, and building suitable economic models. In the first half of the term, the commune has also focused on building 5/9 high-income fields with an area of 7 hectares or more, and building large-scale model fields of over 30 hectares for high productivity.
Annual food production reaches 3,204-3,350 tons, productivity 10.5 tons/ha. Livestock and aquaculture have become the spearhead in economic development of this lowland commune.
In addition to training on cultivation, livestock, aquaculture techniques, and supporting households with seedlings and breeds, the visits to economic models inside and outside the province, such as the lean pig and poultry farming model in Quy Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province; the safe vegetable growing model in Quynh Luong commune (Quynh Luu), etc., organized by the commune also provide useful lessons in choosing models suitable to local conditions.
According to the plan set by the Party Congress, by 2015 the herd of buffalo and cows had increased from 1,200 to 800, the herd of pigs had increased from 7,000 to 4,320, the area of aquaculture ponds in the commune had expanded to nearly 80 hectares, and there were 157 large and small farms in the area...
Dynamic development has brought Hung Tan an average economic growth rate of 18% over the years (the congress target is 16%); production value reached 55.6%, average income reached 22 million VND/person/year, budget revenue for half of the term is estimated at over 13 billion VND/resolution target of 20 billion VND, reaching 65%, the poverty rate decreased to 4.3% (the average for the whole Hung Nguyen district is 12%)... Sharing about the experience in completing the economic development targets, Party Secretary Hoang Danh Lai said: "The commune Party Committee has thoroughly instructed cadres not to give empty instructions but at least once a week to go to the fields to directly direct production, exchange and share experiences, listen to people's suggestions and proposals. Only then can we create people's trust in the Party's economic development policies and guidelines...".
Recognizing the achievements that the Party Committee and people of Hung Tan have achieved in the past half term, from Hung Nguyen district, Hung Tan was included in the list of new rural model communes. Up to now, the locality has completed 17/19 new rural criteria and is striving to soon complete the remaining criteria...
