Hung Tan: Mobilizing internal resources to build concrete roads
(Baonghean.vn) -While many localities are facing difficulties in completing the target of concreting rural roads on schedule, in Hung Tan (Hung Nguyen), upgrading and standardizing rural roads is being evaluated as a timely effort, mobilizing internal resources from the people.
We stopped by Hung Tan at the exact time when the people of Hamlet 2 were working on the road. On the main roads and turns, the atmosphere was bustling with enthusiasm. Trucks were pouring in loads of rocks for the people to fill and rake the roadbed. Ms. Vo Thi Tam from Hamlet 2 confided: “To have a wide and convenient road for production and for our children to go to school conveniently, we each contributed 200,000 VND, determined to work with the villagers to soon complete the concrete of the roads in the hamlet.”
People of Hamlet 2 deploy concreting on the roads
The entire hamlet 2 currently has nearly 500 people, the village road system (type B road) is 2.5km long, the road base is 2.5m wide. Mr. Ho Xuan Quang (hamlet 2) said: this time, in conjunction with the planning for new rural construction, following the general direction of the commune, we determined the spirit of "working while mobilizing people". The goal in this period is for the hamlet to focus on expanding the road base by 1-2m on each route. Due to the characteristics of most of the roads having been cleared, this time the people basically focused on upgrading and standardizing the concrete on the road base with a predetermined base, without having to mobilize people to donate land for site clearance. Therefore, the important part of the work mainly depends on the mobilization of contributions and working days. Based on the actual situation and the status of the roads, people voluntarily contributed from 200,000 to 300,000/person and contributed enough working days to complete the project as planned. Up to now, after nearly 10 days of launching, the people of Hamlet 2 have completed 2 km/2.5 km of concrete road according to criteria and planning, mobilized hundreds of millions of VND and hundreds of working days, received 60 tons of cement from the commune to deploy concreting the roads.
In Hamlet 6 - the pilot hamlet to build concrete roads in the commune, people have mobilized internal resources up to thousands of working days, an average of 5 - 7 working days/person. Currently, this hamlet has also completed nearly 3km of standard concrete roads, including 2km of village roads (type B roads) and roads to residential alleys (type C roads), 1km of main traffic axis road. Currently, people in Hamlet 2 have officially put these concrete roads into use, serving the living and production needs of the hamlet people.
Hung Tan currently has over 3,700 people, is a low-lying locality of Hung Nguyen district. The whole commune currently has nearly 24 km of rural roads, including 7 km of type A roads, 10 km of type B roads and 7 km of type C roads. Mr. Vu Ngoc Ba - Traffic and Transportation Officer of Hung Tan commune, said: Up to now, the current status of concreting rural roads in the area is specifically as follows: Road A is 3m wide, Road B is 2.5m wide, Road C is 2m wide. In conjunction with the planning of new rural construction, at the end of October 2012, the commune officially implemented the plan to concretize rural roads to meet standards, widening the main road by a maximum of 2m, and the village roads and alleys by 1 - 1.5m. To encourage the people's efforts for the common goal, the pioneer hamlets that complete beautiful roads early will be rewarded with 10 million VND, the single, sick and elderly people over 80 years old will be exempted from contributions. The hamlets base on the specific situation of the roads to give a realistic and suitable contribution level for the people. The motto of the commune is that party members from hamlets to communes take the lead, set an example and contribute more. Up to now, after nearly 1 month of deployment, the commune has completed upgrading and expanding nearly 5 km of concrete roads, concentrated in hamlets 6 and 2. The remaining hamlets are focusing on digging, expanding and clearing the land, 7/9 hamlets have completed collecting contributions for road construction according to the spirit of the plan. The commune has received 500/800 tons of cement distributed to the people of the hamlets to implement road construction.
In the general context, completing the expansion of nearly 5km of concrete roads in Hung Tan is clearly a big task. With the spirit of effort and high concentration, in the coming time, Hung Tan commune will continue to mobilize, urge and propagate the remaining hamlets to deploy and urgently resolve to complete the concrete targets on the roads this year.
