Hung Yen: Discovered a facility counterfeiting more than 1 ton of Ajinomoto MSG

Hung Yen Provincial Police in coordination with the police of Kim Dong and Tien Lu districts recently conducted a surprise inspection and discovered a facility making fake Ajinomoto MSG from Chinese MSG in Nhat Tan commune, Tien Lu district in large quantities.

The owner of the above facility is Do Thi Hanh, 49 years old, in Phuong Tuong village, Nhat Tan commune.

After investigating and collecting evidence, the authorities urgently searched Do Thi Hanh's house, discovered and seized 28 bags of cheap MSG made in China with a total weight of nearly 1.4 tons, along with many tools for packaging.

Hanh confessed to buying this MSG at a cheap price, packaging it under the Ajinomoto brand, and then selling it on the market at a higher price to make a profit.

Previously, on April 1, Kim Dong District Police caught Nguyen Trong Thanh, 50 years old, residing in Nhat Tan Commune, using a motorbike to transport a sack containing 15 packages of Ajinomoto MSG, each weighing 1kg, to sell in Hiep Cuong Commune, Kim Dong District.

During an emergency search of Thanh’s house, the authorities seized 40 packages of fake Ajinomoto MSG, weighing a total of 40kg. Thanh confessed to buying the MSG at Do Thi Hanh’s facility. To avoid the authorities’ control, the subjects disguised the fake MSG in bags labeled “Lam Son Pure Sugar.”

Currently, the authorities are taking samples to determine the origin of this cheap MSG and continue to investigate the case./.
