Instructions on how to check and change car coolant
Checking and adding coolant to your car is an important step to help the engine run smoothly. Therefore, users should check regularly according to the correct procedure to help the engine run efficiently, smoothly and ensure safety when driving.
What is engine coolant?
Engine coolant is a solution of water and antifreeze in the radiator of a car. This solution prevents the car's engine from overheating in hot weather and from freezing in cold weather.
Drivers should proactively check the car's coolant level to ensure the best engine performance.
Instructions on how to check car coolant
To check the car's coolant level, users need to check the coolant tank. The water tank has a min/max line indicating the minimum and maximum coolant levels. The process of checking the car's coolant must follow the following 4 steps:
Step 1: Turn off the engine, open the hood, wait for the engine to cool completely.
Step 2: Gently turn the coolant tank cap counterclockwise to release excess pressure and open the cap.
Step 3: If the coolant level is between the Min and Max lines, it means the car still has enough coolant.
Step 4: If the engine coolant level is below the Min line, add more coolant for stable vehicle operation.
During the coolant check process, the user should not open the coolant tank cap when the engine is hot, because the solution escaping at high temperature increases the risk of burns.
Not all coolant products are suitable for vehicles. In particular, only use additives suitable for each type of vehicle to limit damage to the engine. Users need to be careful in the process of changing coolant because additives in coolant can be harmful to health.

Add coolant
After checking your car's coolant and finding that it needs to be topped up, follow these instructions to do it properly.
Depending on the vehicle running conditions, mileage, weather conditions, etc., customers can choose the appropriate time to change the car engine coolant. The way to add coolant is as follows:
Step 1: Let the car engine cool completely.
Step 2: Gently turn the coolant reservoir cap counterclockwise, then open the cap.
Step 3: If the coolant is below the Min level, slowly add more coolant to the specified level, being careful not to overflow the coolant.
Step 4: Unscrew the coolant reservoir cap until you hear a click. Make sure the cap is screwed in so that the arrows on the reservoir and the cap point toward each other.
Note: In case of coolant leak in the tank, it should be repaired as soon as possible.
In addition, the driver can take the car to the auto maintenance center system to ensure the engine is replaced with the right type of coolant, meeting requirements.
Drivers must comply with environmental protection principles when disposing of coolant and additives. According to the manufacturer's recommendations, additives in coolant are harmful to human health and the surrounding environment.
