March 2, 2011 09:16

From March 1 to March 31, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) requires power companies to arrange enough staff to receive all customers who register to purchase electricity at the price applicable to poor households and low-income households with regular electricity usage of no more than 50 kWh/month.

From March 1 to March 31, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) requires power companies to arrange enough staff to receive all customers who register to purchase electricity at the price applicable to poor households and low-income households with regular electricity usage of no more than 50 kWh/month.

Customers who come to register need to bring their electricity bill or electricity purchase contract (photocopy is acceptable), fill in the registration form (sample available) and keep a copy of the registration form certified by the electricity company (representative is the person receiving the registration form).

Procedures, locations and deadlines for receiving registrations to buy electricity at the price applicable to poor households and low-income households that regularly use no more than 50 kWh/month of electricity are widely announced by electricity companies on websites, newspapers, television and radio stations at the local level (up to the commune and ward level).

In addition, from April 1, EVN requires power companies to only accept registrations to buy electricity at the price applied to poor households and low-income households with regular electricity usage of no more than 50 kWh/month from customers requesting new electricity supply for living purposes.

Customers who have registered to buy electricity at the price applicable to poor households and low-income households with regular electricity usage of no more than 50 kWh/month in March 2011 will be applied this price from the April 2011 billing period.

For new electricity customers from April 2011 who have registered to buy electricity at the retail price for poor households and low-income households who regularly use no more than 50kWh/month, this price will be applied from the first month of electricity use.

When a customer purchases electricity at the price applicable to poor households or low-income households with regular electricity usage of no more than 50 kWh/month, and the output for 3 consecutive months (from the month this price is applied) exceeds 150 kWh (allowing an additional 5 kWh for meter reading time error), the Electricity Company will automatically switch to applying the retail electricity price for normal households from the following month.

If in the first month from the month of applying this price, the customer's output exceeds 150 kWh, the Electricity Company will automatically switch to applying the retail electricity price for normal households from the following month.

If in the second month from the month applying this price, the customer's output for two months (the first month and the second month from the month applying this price) exceeds 150 kWh, the Electricity Company will automatically switch to applying the retail electricity price for normal households from the following month.
