Huu Thang was approved by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training to be the head coach of the Vietnamese national team.
Accordingly, after reaching an agreement on a two-year contract with coach Nguyen Huu Thang, VFF reported to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and then the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to the latest information, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training has received an official document on the proposal to sign a contract with Coach Huu Thang from VFF on February 16. In this document, VFF also reported important terms in the contract such as salary, term, goals...

Huu Thang takes one step closer to becoming the coach of the Vietnamese national teams. |
Unlike previous foreign coaches, in this submission, VFF clearly stated that all salary and other expenses for Huu Thang will be covered by VFF (in the case of Coach Miura, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training will pay 10,000 USD/month and VFF will only have to cover a small part). However, the salary of Huu Thang has not been disclosed. However, recently, VFF affirmed that there is no story of paying 200 million/month to the new captain of the Vietnam National Team.
Basically, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training completely agrees with the VFF report and absolutely supports the signing of a contract with Coach Huu Thang. The General Department's leaders also believe that Coach Huu Thang, with his good skills, prestige and enthusiasm, will change the face of the Vietnamese team in the near future.
According to research, the goals of the Vietnam National Team and U23 Vietnam at the AFF Cup and SEA Games 29 will be the highest. Particularly at the AFF Cup 2016, Coach Huu Thang also has another task of strongly rejuvenating the team to aim for the SEA Games 29 championship.
Talking to the press about this goal, General Secretary Le Hoai Anh revealed: “Up to now, assigning targets to head coaches in tournaments has been completely normal. But we need to understand that this is the target to aim for, whether it can be achieved or not depends on the actual situation of our forces at the time of the tournament. If we put too much emphasis on this issue, it will unintentionally put pressure on coaches and players.”
