(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 30, in Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu), a student from Dong Nai province drowned while swimming in the sea while returning home to play.

The victim is Pham Thi Yen (born 2003), currently an 8th grade student at a middle school in Dong Nai province.

Accordingly, during the summer vacation, Yen was allowed by her family in Dong Nai to visit her hometown. On the afternoon of June 30, she and her friends went to the beach to swim. After a while, Yen was nowhere to be seen, and some of her friends were panicked and called for help.

Upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Quynh Long Commune mobilized many divers and the Phu Lien village's fishing team to search and rescue the student. However, due to the changing weather and the rising tide, the search was very difficult. By 6:30 p.m., the authorities still had not found Pham Thi Yen.

At the same time Yen went missing, a young child was also drowning while bathing. However, this child was saved by some young people who were also bathing.

After more than 2 hours of searching, at 6:45 p.m., Yen's body was found and handed over to her family to prepare for burial.

Immediately after the incident, representatives of the People's Committee of Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu) came down to encourage and visit the victim's family.
