Mobilizing resources to effectively support agricultural cooperatives
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 18, the Government held an online conference to implement Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP and Decision No. 461/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Project to develop 15,000 effective agricultural cooperatives and cooperative unions by 2020.
The conference was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Head of the Steering Committee for Innovation and Development of Cooperatives and Economic Cooperation.

The main tasks at the conference mainly focused on the following contents: Resolutely handling the dissolution and conversion to other types of weak cooperatives that have ceased operations. Improving the efficiency and quality of operations of weak agricultural cooperatives to meet the criteria of efficiency; maintaining and improving the quality of operations of agricultural cooperatives that are operating effectively.
To effectively carry out the tasks, in the coming time, we will strengthen the propaganda work to raise awareness about the implementation of the 15,000 cooperatives project. Complete the institutions, policies and mechanisms for agricultural cooperatives; promote training and fostering to improve the capacity and qualifications of state management system officials, support forces, forces directly operating in cooperatives and cooperative members.
Along with that, strengthen the coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Cooperative Alliance, Farmers' Association and central and local departments, branches and organizations in implementing the 15,000 cooperatives project; mobilize resources to effectively support agricultural cooperatives.

At the conference, representatives of ministries, branches, and People's Committees of provinces and cities reported on the achievements, shortcomings, and difficulties in the implementation process of agricultural cooperatives; at the same time, identified tasks and solutions for implementation in the coming time.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development of Nghe An province said: In recent times, especially after the Law on Cooperatives 2012 took effect, the political system from the province to the grassroots level has taken drastic actions to develop agricultural cooperatives in the area.
Thanks to that, up to now, the whole province has 503 agricultural cooperatives with over 150 thousand members; revenue of about 324,000 million VND; average income of members reaching nearly 24 million VND/member, creating jobs for 33,000 regular workers at the cooperative.
Nghe An province strives to establish 140 new agricultural cooperatives in the 2018 - 2020 period, and by 2020 the whole province will have over 492 agricultural cooperatives operating effectively, achieving and exceeding the targets assigned by the Central Government.
To help Nghe An effectively develop agricultural cooperatives, Nghe An province requests the Central Government to allocate sufficient resources to implement the policies issued in Decision No. 2261/QD-TTg; Decree 98/2018/ND-CP and Decision No. 461/QD-TTg dated April 27, 2018 of the Prime Minister; Central ministries and branches provide detailed instructions on the implementation of policies as well as policies to support infrastructure construction in Decision No. 2261/QD-TTg, and instructions on handling debts and assets to completely handle the dissolution of inactive cooperatives.

Removing difficulties and improving the efficiency of cooperative activities
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the issue mentioned at the meeting between the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee on the afternoon of April 13 under the program of monitoring the effectiveness of cooperative operations. Attending the meeting were comrades: Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

Newly established cooperatives increase but operational efficiency remains limited
(Baonghean.vn) - The number of established cooperatives has increased, but for many reasons, their quality and operational efficiency are still limited.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue - Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Steering Committee for Innovation and Development of Collective Economy and Cooperatives requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over the development and implementation of the project; guide, monitor, urge and inspect localities in implementing the project.
Relevant central ministries and branches shall, based on their functions and tasks, implement assigned tasks in the project and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to direct relevant affiliated agencies to closely coordinate in the process of advising and implementing the project.
Provinces and centrally-run cities must thoroughly handle the dissolution and conversion of weak cooperatives that have ceased operations to other types; maintain and improve the quality of operations of agricultural cooperatives; create conditions for the establishment of new agricultural cooperatives and provide support for their effective operations.
