Anh Son District: 7th District Trade Union Congress - Term 2012 - 2017
On November 8 and 9, Anh Son District Labor Federation organized the 7th District Trade Union Congress, term 2012 - 2017. Attending and directing the congress were comrade Nguyen Tu Phuong, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Permanent Vice President of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation, leaders of Anh Son district; Party secretaries, chairmen of communes and towns, representatives of agencies and units in the district; and delegates representing over 4,052 union members in the whole district.

During the past term, the trade unions at all levels of Anh Son district have made efforts, united to overcome difficulties, and effectively implemented the set goals. The trade unions have innovated in content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots and becoming increasingly effective. Propaganda and education work and emulation movements have taken place vigorously and widely with diverse content and forms.
The union's social activities have been promoted, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. The district union has proactively coordinated with the government to support social insurance payments for 70% of part-time employees in communes, towns, agencies and units; visited and supported union members in difficult circumstances with nearly 1.5 billion VND, built 6 new "union warm houses" worth 130 million VND; helped 300 officials and employees borrow capital for economic development with an amount of nearly 1 billion VND; trained union members on union work. More than 85% of agencies and units achieved the title of cultural agency, the district Labor Federation has achieved excellent and strong status for many consecutive years.
The Congress elected 21 comrades with sufficient qualifications, political level, professional expertise, and commitment to the trade union career to the trade union executive committee for the new term 2012-2017. Comrade Nguyen Huu Viet continued to be elected as Chairman of the District Labor Federation for the term 2012-2017./.
