Hyundai Tucson price reduced to 770 million - cheapest in segment in Vietnam

The standard 2.0 version costs around 770-785 million, the negotiated price is cheaper than the standard version of competitors CX-5, CR-V.

Hyundai Tucson when imported does not have as much discount as its competitors. But in the assembled version, the advantage of cost reduction helps reduce the listed price, not only that, the negotiated price also decreases accordingly.

Dealers in Hanoi have different discount rates for customers buying Tucson, in which the price for the lowest standard 2.0 version ranges from 770-785 million, while the listed price is 815 million. This price can be considered the cheapest on the market, because the standard version of CX-5 costs 799 million and CR-V 2.0 is no longer available for sale. The X-Trail, Captiva, Outlander cost over 800 million.

Compared to the price at the beginning of the year of 925 million, the standard 2.0 version of Tucson has decreased by 155 million. The higher versions have also decreased by tens of millions, a significant number compared to the listed price. However, the car prices between dealers are not consistent, there can be a difference of tens of millions for each version. The 2.0 diesel version has decreased the least, while the 1.6 Turbo is rare because in the first batch, Hyundai Thanh Cong produced a small number of trials.

Tucson has the cheapest negotiated price in the segment.

The Korean crossover is not out of the market's price reduction wave. All cars in the segment have dropped hundreds of millions in price compared to last year. The CX-5 is leading in sales. Hyundai does not release statistics.

After the CR-V price reduction controversy in early September, the car price on the market has temporarily stabilized. After about a week of price reduction, the CR-V returned to its old price after selling out. Meanwhile, the CX-5 has been "stuck" at its lowest price of 799 million since August.

Tucson is the second model after i10 assembled in Vietnam in 2017. According to the plan, Hyundai Thanh Cong will complete the assembly of 80-90% of the models being sold before entering the pivotal stage of 2018. This company and Truong Hai are two manufacturers focusing on assembly and the ambition to export back to countries in the region, going against the import trend of joint venture companies.
