Immoble received a red card, Lazio lost at home
Ciro Immobile's disastrous red card in the final minute of the first half made things difficult for Lazio in the late match of round 16 of Serie A, when they were crushed by visiting team Torino with a score of 3-1 and missed the chance to catch up with the leading group.
Lazio: Alberto (69'); Torino: Berenguer (54'), Rincon (64'), Edera (73')
Lazio entered the late match of round 16 of Serie A with the ambition to win and squeeze into the Top 4. However, the capital team faced fierce resistance from Torino, a team that always knows how to make it difficult for big teams. Holding Inter Milan and AC Milan in the last two away matches is proof of the Turin team's discomfort.
In the first half, the match did not have many notable situations. Lazio played a scattered attack, unable to put pressure on the away team's defense. Meanwhile, Torino's counter-attacking style was quite formidable and they had at least 3 good missed opportunities.
The game was a tug of war for most of the first half, and it was not until the extra minutes that the drama began, with the highlight being the "headbutt" between striker Immobile and defender Burdisso from the visiting team Torino. Referee Giacomelli then had to rely on VAR technology to decide to give the Lazio striker a red card.

Playing with only 10 men on the field caused Lazio to completely lose control of the game to the away team Torino. In the 54th minute, from a pass on the left wing, Berenguer soloed past two defenders of the home team before unleashing a diagonal shot to open the score. 10 minutes later, Tomas Rincon broke through the siege of two Lazio players and had a perfect curling shot from outside the penalty area to double the gap.
In the 69th minute, Luis Alberto opened up hope of a point for the home team with a dribble into the penalty area and a delicate shot to reduce the gap to 1-2. However, Lazio's joy did not last long, because just 4 minutes later, substitute Edera had a powerful shot from outside the penalty area to seal a 3-1 victory for the away team Torino.
With this defeat, Lazio continues to stay in 5th place on the rankings with 32 points. Meanwhile, Torino rose to 8th place with 23 points.
