Indonesia sinks Malaysian fishing boat for illegal fishing
The Star newspaper reported on January 9 that police in Indonesia's North Sumatra province sank a Malaysian fishing boat for illegal fishing off the country's Pandan Island.
The newspaper quoted North Sumatra provincial police chief General Eko Hadi as saying that the ship, numbered PKFA 7738, was sunk with explosives on January 8 in Belawan waters and the action was approved by the court.

He also said this was the first time that North Sumatra provincial police had sunk a foreign fishing boat illegally fishing in the province's waters.
