Markets such as Indonesia still affirm that they will not import rice in 2016 because domestic rice inventories are still at a safe level.

The Philippines announced plans to import 250,000 tons of rice last week, but there has been no official information so far.

However, farm owners are not too optimistic because this purchase has only improved in the past week, and has changed too erratically while domestic consumption is still quite slow.

In addition, the raw pangasius market has the lowest selling price in the past 5 years due to the large amount of inventory in warehouses and farming areas of enterprises due to the stagnant demand from the Chinese market. Meanwhile, the vegetable growing area in Lam Dong province is less affected by weather or disease. This causes traders from everywhere to flock to Lam Dong province to buy vegetables to sell elsewhere, causing the prices of many types of vegetables to increase compared to last month, but the increase is not much.
