Indonesia: Explosion at power plant construction site, more than 10 casualties

At least seven workers were killed and six others seriously injured in an explosion at a power plant construction site in North Sumatra province, Indonesian officials said on February 25.

According to Mr. Jonson Tarigan, senior official of Karo District Disaster Management Agency, the accident happened on February 24 in a tunnel in Rih Tengah village in this district.

A generator suddenly exploded, injuring workers working in the tunnel.

All victims were taken out of the tunnel and transferred to a nearby hospital./.
