The above information is extracted from the VnReview Smartphone Rankings (VSR) 2014, conducted by the technology site VnReview within 6 months, announced yesterday morning (March 12).
Specifically, in the high-end smartphone line, ranked from top to bottom in terms of screen quality are iPhone 5S, HTC One, LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1, Nokia Lumia 1020 and Samsung Galaxy S4. In the sound ranking, iPhone 5S is still in the number 1 position, followed by Sony Xperia Z1, Nokia Lumia 1020, Samsung Galaxy S4, LG G2 and HTC One. In terms of battery, LG G2 is in the top position, followed by Sony Xperia Z1, Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Nokia Lumia 1020 and iPhone 5S.
In the mid-range 1 and mid-range 2 smartphone segments, HTC One X, Huawei Ascend 6 are the leaders in screen quality, Samsung Galaxy S3, Huawei Ascend 6 are the leaders in sound and LG Optimus G, Lenovo P780 are the leaders in battery.
In the low-cost smartphone segment, HTC Desire 300 holds the number one position in terms of screen, Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus has the advantage in sound and Sony Xperia M in terms of battery.
In the customer care ranking in Vietnam, Nokia, Samsung, LG ranked first and Apple, Huawei, HTC, Lenovo, FPT ranked last in Vietnam. However, Ms. Le Hanh, Editor-in-Chief of VnReview said that despite such rankings, most manufacturers are not really professional in customer care.
According to Ms. Hanh, to ensure fairness, this unit has spent its own money to buy 30 new smartphones on the market for evaluation. The devices evaluated are popular genuine models that have influence in the Vietnamese market such as iPhone, Samsung, Nokia...
VnReview used specialized equipment to measure screen fidelity, sound accuracy, and set up a standard experimental environment with a darkroom, soundproof room, etc. The editors of this site performed thousands of test measurements, hundreds of calls, and on-site surveys (at customer care centers) to come up with the rankings.
Citing market research figures, Ms. Hanh said that if in 2010 there were 1 million smartphones sold in the Vietnamese market, in 2013 there were 7 million and it is expected to reach 17.22 million units in 2014. It is estimated that each year in Vietnam there are more than 200 new smartphone models appearing.
“Amidst a myriad of products and many advertising tricks, consumers will inevitably be confused when buying a suitable smartphone. Therefore, we have decided to conduct this annual ranking program to help users have more reliable information channels to choose from,” Ms. Hanh said about the reason for the presence of VSR 2014./.
