iPhone 6 hand-carried price drops sharply, abundant supply

After 4 days of causing a fever in the market, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus suddenly dropped deeply, the lowest discount was up to 5 million VND, many stores even reduced nearly 9 million VND for the lowest capacity iPhone 6 version.

On the first day (September 19), hand-carried iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were also brought to Vietnam, but the selling price of this product was advertised by stores at a fluctuating price of 27 million VND for a 16 GB iPhone 6 version. Only two days later, the selling price of this product line suddenly cooled down and decreased rapidly. On September 21, many store owners quickly lowered the price by 2 to 3 million VND.

Late tonight and early morning of September 23, the selling price continued to decrease and currently some reputable iPhone stores in the Ho Chi Minh City area are selling at a price of 21.5 to 21.9 million VND.

A quick survey of some individuals who spontaneously carry goods from abroad and sell them on classifieds sites shows that the selling price is much lower. Many of these retailers are selling at only 19.5 to 20 million VND for an iPhone 6 version, while the price of 21 million VND will get you the 64 GB iPhone 6 version.

Notably, for the 128 GB iPhone 6 version, on the first day, a store in Ho Chi Minh City offered it for sale at 49 million VND and sold out within the day. After 2 days, the store owner also lowered the selling price to the current level of 27.9 million VND, a decrease of more than 21 million VND compared to the old selling price.

Talking to Dan Tri, Mr. Mai Phu Phong, CEO of PhonGee Color store said: “On the first day of arrival in Vietnam, the goods were mostly from Hong Kong and Singapore and the supply was relatively limited, so the price was always very high, similar to previous years. But after 2 days, the supply began to flood in, especially the supply from the US was very large, so the selling price also decreased, reflecting the market. However, the shopping demand of Vietnamese users is still high, showing no signs of cooling down compared to the first day.”

In the northern region, many shop owners have also lowered their prices, but the price is still at 23 million VND or more. Mr. Nguyen Truong Huy, director of Huy Mobile retail chain, said: "The price of a 16 GB iPhone 6 version is currently selling at 23 to 23.5 million VND, however, today, there will be a lot of goods coming from the US, so it is predicted that the price in the northern region will continue to cool down this evening, falling to around 22 million VND or more."

Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, media representative of the CellPhoneS system, said: “The selling price of iPhone 6 in Hanoi is currently offered at 23.9 million VND and the supply is quite large, the sales are very good. However, the price will continue to decrease but not much.”

At the same time, speaking to Dan Tri, many shop owners also said that in the coming time, the selling price will continue to decrease but will not decrease as much as the first days. "Before being officially distributed, the price of iPhone 6 will continue to decrease but will not decrease much, the price will still be from 19.5 million VND or more, which is 2.5 million VND lower than the current price." Mr. Mai Phu Phong affirmed.

Regarding the iPhone 6 Plus supply, it is also cooling down compared to the first days. The selling price on the first day recorded the highest price sold at 79 million VND for a 128 GB version, but now the price fluctuates at 40 million VND or less. However, according to some reputable retail chains, the selling price of the iPhone 6 Plus is the most difficult to predict because this supply is still scarce compared to the iPhone 6, so the selling price in each region will be different but will not be as cheap as the iPhone 6.

Currently, the selling price of iPhone 6 is returning to a stable level and the supply is quite abundant, if you do not care about Apple's after-sales policies, users can shop. However, according to the information that Dan Tri posted earlier, the genuine source announced that it is expected to start selling in the Vietnamese market at the end of October this year.
