The number of people injured in the two bombings also increased from 64 to 94.
No individual or organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) terrorist group has carried out similar suicide bombings in Iraq.
According to a recent United Nations report, some of the most serious violence and terrorist attacks have taken place in Iraq over the past few years.
In 2014 alone – considered the deadliest year since the outbreak of sectarian conflict in 2006-2007 – at least 12,282 civilians were killed and more than 23,000 others were injured.
