IS uses hostages as "human shields" to stop Iraqi army
According to Voice of Russia and Iraqi Sumaria TV, fighters of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) extremist group, which controls some areas in northern and northeastern Iraq, are capturing local people as "human shields" to block the advance of the Iraqi army.
The source cited Iraqi security forces as saying that IS had driven about 30 families from Sharvin village to the front line in the al-Mansur area of Diyala province.
