Israel pledges not to let the tragedy of the Russian plane being shot down happen again
Israel will do everything possible to prevent a repeat of the tragedy of the downing of the Russian Il-20 plane in Syria, Director of the Israeli Foreign Ministry's Eurasian Department 1 Yakov Livne told reporters.

"This is a tragic incident. We are very sorry. The next day, the prime minister said so. Everyone knows that it was a Syrian missile that shot down the plane, killing the Russian crew. We consider this a tragedy," Mr. Livne said.
"In the future, it is important to do everything so that such tragedies do not happen again. We will do everything possible for this," he stressed.
Relations between Russia and Israel have been severely tested following the incident with the Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft, which was shot down on September 17 35 km off the Mediterranean coast as it returned to the Hmeymim air base.
