Phase one human trials of the vaccine have now begun, and it is one of two vaccines the World Health Organization is supporting to fight the deadly disease raging in West Africa.
According to the World Health Organization, the Ebola epidemic in West Africa is currently considered the worst in the past 40 years. Since the outbreak of Ebola, about 1,500 out of a total of 3,000 people infected with the Ebola virus have died.
Earlier this September, Italian Health Minister Beatrice Lorenzin recently stated that the risk of the Ebola virus spreading in Italy was very low. However, on September 9, the first suspected case of Ebola was discovered in the Marche region, northeastern Italy.
The patient believed to have symptoms of Ebola is a foreign woman, about 40 years old, living in the city of Civitanova Marche. This woman recently spent time in Nigeria./.
