Kane equals Messi and Ronaldo's record, Tottenham wins big

Coach Pochettino's team maintained their perfect away record in the Premier League this season when they defeated hosts Hudderfield 4-0.

The earliest match of round seven of the Premier League was almost like a training session for the visitors Tottenham. It took them just 24 minutes to lead 3-0, deciding the match, when Harry Kane scored twice, interspersed with a goal from Ben Davies. Playing leisurely in the remaining time, Tottenham still managed to score another goal against Hudderfield with the kick of substitute Moussa Sissoko.

This is Tottenham's fourth consecutive victory in four away matches in the Premier League this season. Thanks to that, Pochettino's team has risen to third place with 14 points, two points behind leaders Man City, and one point ahead of fourth-placed Chelsea. This gap promises to increase the heat of the direct confrontation between Chelsea and Man City, which takes place at the latest in the series of matches today, September 30.

Hudderfield, at home, were desperate for a positive result to boost their relegation campaign after a run of four games without a win, but the John Smith's side could only keep a clean sheet for eight minutes before collapsing under the might of their visitors.

Harry Kane met Trippier's header, raced into the box and easily beat goalkeeper Jonas Lossl with just nine minutes on the clock. Seven minutes later, the lead was doubled after Kane, Alli and Eriksen combined beautifully to put the ball in a good position for left winger Ben Davies to tap in from close range.

In the 29th minute, Hudderfield conceded their third goal. From a Trippier pass, Harry Kane dribbled the ball for about 18 meters and then beautifully curled the ball past Lossl for the second time. This goal meant that the English striker had scored 13 goals, both at club and international level, in September alone.

September thus became the luckiest month of Harry Kane's career. Thanks to that, he equaled the record for the most goals in a month that had stood for the past five years. Before Kane, only Messi (13 goals, March 2012) and Ronaldo (13 goals, October 2010) had achieved the same feat.

In Tottenham's one-sided game, Hudderfield were somewhat fortunate not to concede a goal in the first half. The ball once found Lossl's crossbar, when Delle Alli skillfully controlled it, then finished in the penalty area in the 30th minute. In the second half, the visitors continued to have chances, but it was not until the first minute of injury time that Tottenham had another goal to close the match thanks to Sissoko.

Hudderfield had just one clear-cut chance in the game, but Depoitre hit the top of the woodwork after dribbling past the Tottenham defender and beating Lloris late in the first half.
