After slashing his uncle to death, Quyet ran to Quang Tri, preparing to escape to Laos but was arrested.
On the evening of February 1, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Province Police announced that they had arrested Nguyen Hong Quyet (28 years old, Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh district), the suspect of slashing his uncle to death and seriously injuring his brother-in-law while visiting a grave.

According to the police, after committing the crime, Quyet moved to many places to avoid being chased by the police.Quyet is currently hiding at the border of Quang Tri province with Laos. Detectives have arrested him and extradited him to Quang Nam to investigate the murder.
"Quyet has been a long-term drug addict. The police are clarifying the time of the crime and whether Quyet was high on drugs or not," the source said.
Previously, on the morning of January 30, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son (66 years old, Tam Dan commune) with his son-in-law Huynh Ngoc Tuong (30 years old) and nephew Nguyen Hong Quyet went to visit the graves near their house.
There, the uncle and nephew argued loudly. Quyet used a machete to slash Mr. Son to death on the spot, and seriously injured Tuong when he intervened.
