Kenny G performs in Vietnam in an international music project initiated by Nhan Dan Newspaper
World-famous saxophone artist Kenny G will come to Vietnam to perform on the evening of November 14 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, in the program called "Kenny G Live In Vietnam" organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with IB Group Vietnam.

The press conference about the program took place on the afternoon of October 9 at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, 71 Hang Trong, Hanoi.
The program is part of the international music project “Good Morning Vietnam” initiated by Nhan Dan Newspaper, which is expected to be held annually. The project has a profound humanitarian meaning as all ticket sales are used for charity purposes hosted by Nhan Dan Newspaper, and also aims to bring the world’s top music to Vietnamese audiences.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Program Steering Committee, said that “Good Morning Vietnam” is a long-term project, aiming to spread the sounds and values of international artists in Vietnam, along with charitable purposes. The program targets instrumental artists, with refined and elegant musical genres.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, in recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has organized many large art programs and an indispensable part of those programs is charity activities towards families of war invalids and martyrs, students in difficult circumstances or teachers in remote areas.
“Continuing the spirit of community dedication that has become a tradition of Nhan Dan Newspaper, we want to expand the scale and bring fresh colors, invite famous international artists to participate in the Newspaper's community activities, and at the same time help promote the image of the beautiful country and people of Vietnam” – Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper affirmed.
“Kenny G Live in Vietnam” is the opening show of the project, which will last for more than 2 hours following the format of Kenny G’s performances on major stages around the world. He and his band will play live all the most famous songs throughout his career such as: “Going home”, “Havana”, “Romeo & Juliet”, “My heart will go on”...

Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong, Chairman of IB Group Vietnam, Program Production Director added that the Organizing Committee has spent more than a year negotiating with many international artists, both to match their performance schedules to reduce the cost burden and to meet the program's criteria. At the end of this year, only Kenny G has a performance schedule that fits the program in Vietnam. A number of other international artists have agreed to participate or are interested in next year's program.
Because the program calls for socialized funding, all ticket proceeds will be used for charity activities. Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong also said that tickets will be sold at many prices, expected to range from about 1 million to 8 million VND.
Kenny G came to Vietnam to perform in 2015, and like many other international artists, he and his team have extremely strict requirements in terms of equipment and technique. The equipment is required to be detailed, accurate to each type and brand name, to produce the most realistic and best sound.
The organizers also said that there will be many interesting plans and events, but they are still in the negotiation process so they cannot be revealed yet.
The new feature of the program “Kenny G Live In Vietnam”, according to the Organizing Committee, is that the legendary songs associated with the artist’s name will be remixed by him to create a new sound, but still retain the soul of the work. In addition, the program’s music director, musician Nguyen Tuan Nam, also said that he had sent 3 Vietnamese folk songs to the artists to practice in advance to perform in the program.
Kenny G, whose real name is Kenneth Bruce Gorelick, is an American composer, producer, and saxophone legend with hundreds of instrumental songs in the smooth Jazz, R&B, Pop, and Latin genres.
