According to the indictment, due to personal conflicts at around 8:00 p.m. on November 4, 2014, Nguyen Xuan Nam, Hoang Van Manh and Tran Quoc Dat went to the house of Tran Anh Tuan (born in 1973), residing in Doi Cung ward, Vinh city to talk. There, Nam and Tuan continued to argue loudly with each other. Suddenly, Nam used a K54 gun to shoot Tuan but missed. Tuan rushed to control the gun. The two sides struggled and the bullet hit Ms. Hang (Tuan's wife) in the stomach, who was standing nearby, causing Ms. Hang to die on the way to the emergency room. When Tuan grabbed the gun from Nam's hand and used the butt of the gun to hit Nam in the head, Nam's group ran out into the street. On the way, Manh took a homemade gun that fired flower bullets and shot at Mr. Tuan who was chasing him. However, the bullets hit two sanitation workers who were resting on the side of the road, Mr. Dang Van Chung and Ms. Dinh Thi Chung (24 years old) - workers of Nghe An Environmental Company Limited, causing them to be injured and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Defendant Nguyen Xuan Nam was proposed to receive the highest sentence.

At court, the representative of the People's Procuracy proposed a sentence of 16 to 17 years in prison for Nguyen Xuan Nam for murder and illegal possession of military weapons, Hoang Van Manh 14 to 15 years in prison for murder and Tran Quoc Dat 3 to 6 months in prison for concealing a crime. However, due to the serious nature of the case, after deliberation, the panel of judges announced to extend the deliberation time until September 28./.
