Conclusion of the Prime Minister on petroleum business
The Prime Minister requested to clearly announce and publicize the factors forming prices, costs and business results of petroleum enterprises.
On September 29, the Government Office issued Notice No. 233 announcing the Conclusion of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on the implementation of Decree No. 84 on petroleum business.
According to the content of the Notice, on September 26, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung chaired a meeting and listened to a report on the implementation of Decree No. 84/CP dated October 15, 2009 of the Government on petroleum trading. At this meeting, the Government directed consistent management of petroleum business and prices, step by step following the market mechanism under State management. The management of petroleum retail prices in the coming time must continue to be strictly implemented, in accordance with the provisions of Decree 84/CP.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministries of Finance and Industry and Trade to closely coordinate and take responsibility for inspecting and supervising price adjustments by enterprises, and publicly announce the price plans applied according to regulations.
Adjustment of retail gasoline prices by gasoline trading enterprises must comply with the provisions of Decree No. 84. Relevant agencies regularly coordinate in operating and controlling gasoline prices according to current regulations; proactively handle difficulties, problems and arising issues; in cases beyond authority, report and recommend the Prime Minister to handle promptly, not to let the market fluctuate badly and consumer rights be affected./.
