(Baonghean.vn) - On March 10, in My Ly commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province, a twinning ceremony took place between two Vietnam - Laos border villages: Cha Nga village, My Ly commune and Xop Cang village, Loong Cang cluster, Muong Quan district, Hua Phan province (Laos).

The twinning of villages aims to strengthen the long-term, sustainable traditional solidarity and friendship between the people on both sides of the border, together building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed Vietnam - Laos border. Through the twinning, we will do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing people to effectively implement the Vietnam - Laos Border Agreement and Regulations; coordinate together to effectively resolve arising incidents related to both sides of the border, support each other, develop the economy - culture - society, build and protect the border, landmarks, and maintain the territorial sovereignty of each side.

At the twinning ceremony, the village chiefs of the two Vietnamese and Lao villages signed a commitment to propagate and mobilize people to protect the original state of the border line, border markers and border belt and area; not to build structures that change the flow of rivers and streams on both sides of the border; to strictly comply with regulations on border crossings, not to encroach on cultivation, settlement, shooting across the border, causing fires and explosions, or farming within the border belt of each side; not to cross the border to exploit forests, minerals and resources on both sides of the border, not to participate in harboring or concealing illegal hunters; not to discharge toxic substances that pollute the environment; not to participate in or encourage illegal marriages on both sides of the border; not to let livestock on one side destroy crops and fields of people on both sides of the border; not to participate in illegal religious propaganda; not to participate in trading or harboring, showing the way to human traffickers and other criminals; Do not participate in the transportation of contraband goods, illegal transportation and trading of narcotics, weapons, explosives, toxic cultural products and other prohibited goods; Each family and individual must be responsible for promptly reporting to the village chief, commune chief, commune government, village cluster and border guard stations, border police of both sides about acts of violation of territorial sovereignty and national interests of each country.
