Connecting and expanding cooperation opportunities between Nghe An and Hungarian businesses
On the morning of September 27, Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs held a working session with the Hungarian Business Delegation and the Vietnam Business Association in Hungary to connect and expand investment cooperation in the field of applying science and technology from Europe.
At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs informed about the natural and social conditions, economic situation, and investment attraction of Nghe An province.

Accordingly, in 2024 (before merging provinces and cities), the province's economic growth rate will reach 9.01%, ranking 13th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
In particular, attracting FDI capital is a bright spot, as for 3 consecutive years, Nghe An has been in the group of 10/63 provinces and cities attracting the largest FDI capital in the country. Up to now, the whole province has 156 FDI projects with a total capital of more than 6 billion USD.

Regarding the results of cooperation with Hungary: In 2024, Nghe An's export turnover to Hungary reached nearly 46,000 USD, mainly on the following items: Cassava and cassava products, paving stones, plastic additives. In the first 8 months of 2025, Nghe An's export turnover to Hungary reached 2,500 USD with electronic components and equipment.
Regarding trade relations, some Nghe An products such as cassava products, paving stones, plastic additives, electronic components and equipment are also present in the Hungarian market.

At the request of the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, in 2026, Nghe An province and Za-lae-gers-zeg city are researching and developing a plan to organize delegation exchange and investment cooperation activities to strengthen local-level relations.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed the potential and cooperation opportunities between Nghe An and the Association of Vietnamese Enterprises in Europe and Hungary; in order to maximize the resources of overseas Vietnamese and the Nghe Tinh Association in Hungary, connect with functional agencies and the business community in the area to promote trade and investment cooperation, contributing to the development of the homeland.
On this occasion, two Hungarian enterprises also introduced a number of new technology and material products to seek partners and expand investment cooperation opportunities in the field of science and technology in Nghe An.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs acknowledged and highly appreciated the Nghe Tinh Association in Hungary; the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary and the Nghe Tinh Association for their many activities connecting and supporting the homeland.

The leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs expressed their hope that the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary and the Nghe Tinh Association in Hungary would promote the resources of overseas Vietnamese towards the Fatherland according to the policies of the Party and State; actively connect with functional agencies and the business community in the province to promote trade and investment cooperation, contributing to the development of the homeland and the country.
